Home Made Crafts

I will be showing some things that I have made at home with things around the house, or from DI, or that I got from Garage sales or just given to me on this post.  I saved tons of money by doing these things at home and I am currently working on 4 more projects, rocking chair pad cover, dresser, baby fun ball, okay just 3. I know there will be more later, but enjoy these ones so far:

Baby bib (from towels):  I had a very old beach towel that I wanted to keep and use for something, so I looked and thought hard about what I could use  the towel for and whalaw a fun bib.  I just made up a pattern and found another old black towel and cut and sewed two towels together and made a bib.

Felt blocks:  I have been wanting to make these for Zoie to play with and build with. I can not remember where I saw them, but I loved them and they looked so easy so I just went and picked up some felt and started to be creative with the alphabet and I think I came up with some pretty cute little blocks.
DIY Photo canvas (from wood):  I LOVE these so much.  I spent about 3.00 on both of these (making prints).  I found old wood, cut sanded and painted then modged podge the picture on and Love how it turned out.  So cheap and so cute.

Rocking Chair: I was at DI (love to go there) and found this old rustic rocking chair, and I was thinking, "This would be sweet in Zoie's room if I just prepared, repaired and painted it."  So I did and I love it.  I am working on the seat cover as we speak so that will be on here soon.

Dresser: I was given this old ugly thing from Rashago's sis and bro in law and I said " Hey Zoie needs a dresser so I am going to paint it white for her room". so I did and I am actually really happy how it turned out.

Painted pitcher: I had a white pitcher that needed some color, so I just added some spray paint to add a little fun to my kitchen.
Fabric Wall hanging:  I was being one of the million people that look on pinterest and saw this idea so I told myself "that is way easy and cheap, I can do that and put it in Zoie's room for some color"  So I went to the fabric store and picked out about 5 different patterns and 2 stirofoam pieces and cut random size rectangles and squares and wrapped them with different material (just like wrapping a present).  It turned out perfect for Zoie's room.

Family Letter: I wanted to get a "K" for our wall and put pictures around it, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money, plus I wanted to make it different from what you would find in the stores.  I wanted it thin enough to hang on a wall, but thick enough to stand out.  So I went to Michael's and saw a black "K" and said perfect. then I went and picked out some paper and cut and modged podged and ended up with this very cute "K".

Pillow Case Dress:  I had some old material and I thought it would make a cute dress,  so I cut a pattern and started to sew not relizing how hard it actually is to sew armpit curves.  I had to ask my grandma how to do it.  Thank goodness for Grandmas.  It looks so cute on Zoie.
I know I have some without pictures but I will take and post them soon.

Wolf Creek

This last week we took a trip to Wolf Creek with Rashago's Family and had a blast.  His family is crazy and loud, but WAY fun.   Monday night we just ended up boys in one condo and girls in one and you did not want to be in the same place as the girls because when we play scattergories, we get so slap happy that we about wet our pants and laugh so hard we cry.  As if that was not enough, we started to come up with boys names with Rashago's names he is named after, (shadrach, meshach and abendigo) and came up with some that I am so glad I WILL NOT BE USING, like Shemesbed.  If you say that word fast enough you will get the phrase or sentence that  we came up with and start laughing also.  It was hilarious.   We played minute to win it games and jump rope inside, don't ask me how we got into that, but just remember you do crazy things at 10:30 at night with 10 adults that like to have LOTS of fun at night.  We rented a boat and went tubing, Yes even I got on the tube (don't worry I was on my hands and knees not stomach and I was dying to go faster but I didn't)  Zoie even took a ride on the tube with me.  We  also went  swimming and holy cow, swimming is AWESOME Cardio.  Zoie is such a little fishy with the way she loves to jump into the water without any help and she kicks her legs and moves her arms. She will be swimming by the end of the season. I hope to be able to teach her by then.

Father's day

For father's day I decided to get Zoie and my pictures taken by my friend and print them off and make my own canvas.  I loved how the pictures turned out and I love how the home made canvas turned out.  Talk about CHEAP way to make your pictures pop with color and stand away from the wall with no glare.  Zoie did awesome and smiled great.  We are working on getting Rashago's pictures done so we can have a nice family collage on our wall.  I am excited for how it will turn out. Here are some pictures of Zoie and me.  Rashago's will be coming soon.
The day was awesome with all the family together. We spent the day at both Grandparents house and stuffed out tummies to the point of unbuttoning our top buttons. Oh wait I am not wearing buttons.  I guess I just stretched out my pants too much.

Krazy Kemp update

Here is the latest update on our little family........ I am Pregnant with a little boy due October 14th and feeling great.  I have tons of energy and no sickness at all. He must be practicing football, baseball, basketball and soccer for how much he is moving.  I have been very busy keeping up with a 23 month old , cleaning the house, cooking dinner and making time for myself.  Oh I forgot one thing that I am extremely busy with....... taking care of my husband who tore his Achilles tendon a month ago playing church ball.  Darn Church ball why do you have to be so dangerous.  He can not walk or put any weight on his right foot so that leaves me doing everything around the house.  Hey, I am burning more calories, so I am not complaining at all.

Zoie is about to turn 2 and I can see it in some of the things she does oh wait doesn't want to do...... she screams a blood curdling screams and doesn't move.  She also looks at me with a face like " I know mom is trying to get me to do something, but I am just going to look at her and see how long she will ask before she gets mad...... He he"  Her personality is starting to come out a lot and it is so much fun to see how she reacts to new things and gets super excited about things.  oh to be a kid again.

She loves to side (slide) and swing.  She even hangs from the monkey bars for about a minute.  Man I need to get her into gymnastics or something. She absolutely LOVES to put on her "simsuit" and go swimming in the "wady". Once her water wings are on, she thinks she is invincible and tries to do so many things by herself.  I am glad and nervous with that discovery so I just watch her like a hawk. Her vocabulary is growing like a weed.  Everything we say she can repeat it pretty clear. Which I think is pretty good for an almost 2 year old.  She is loosing most of her baby chub and growing into a little girl so fast that I can hardly believe how much she is growing.  I love it though. Different age, different reactions to different things.  Awesome.
Rashago is doing his best with a broken leg, right leg no less.  He still drives to work, goes to the gym and plays the best with little Zo.  We have had some really good doctors to help him get back to 100%.  He is in a cast for 2 more weeks then he gets a boot for about 3 then he will be able to walk...... YEA just in time for Zoie's birthday.
That is about is for now.
